The point of this workshop is so that:
- Young people will gain knowledge and awareness in order to make informed choices about gambling.
- Young people will understand the impact of harmful gambling, and recognise the signs of gambling-related harm in themselves or others.
- Young people will know where and how to access support if they are experiencing gambling-related harm.
Through the delivery of the workshop there is a 5 minute first-hand experience given detailing how gaming affected the course provider and how they overcame the addiction and what support there is to be accessed. This does include him explaining the thoughts that he had which include that he had suicidal thoughts. This is to help the young people understand the dangers associated with problem gambling and how dangerous it can get for somebody. There is the option for your child NOT to hear the story if you wish. Please give me a call if this is the case.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions,
Yours sincerely,
