At Arco Academy, our mission is simple: to empower you to become the best version of yourself. We’re here to help you make the most of your time with us, preparing you for a bright future and a positive role in society.

What We Aim for You

Our goal is to equip you with the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to thrive. By the time you leave Arco Academy, we want you to be ready for the world, prepared for further education, work, and to make a meaningful contribution to society.

Your Day at Arco Academy

Co-ed Group

 Starting the Day:

  • Arrival: Arrive at school at least 5 minutes before 8:50 a.m. and wait in the reception area until staff collect you.
  • Registration: From 8:50 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., register and review your daily routine, which you can find in your Induction Pack.
  • Breakfast Club: Join us for a FREE breakfast from 9:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. to start your day right!

Daily Schedule:

  • Assemblies: Every Wednesday from 9:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Lessons: Start at 9:30 a.m. with 45-minute sessions.
  • Breaks: Short break at 10:15 a.m. and lunchtime from 11:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Additional breaks can be arranged as needed.

Mentoring:

  • Weekly Sessions: You will have regular mentoring, including group and 1-2-1 sessions to support your personal and academic development.

Girls Group

Starting the Day:

  • Arrival: Arrive at school at least 5 minutes before 9.30 a.m. and wait in the reception area until staff collect you.
  • Registration: From 9.30 a.m. to 9:40 a.m., register and review your daily routine, which you can find in your Induction Pack.
  • Breakfast Club: Join us for a FREE breakfast from 9:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to start your day right!

Daily Schedule:

  • Assemblies: Every Wednesday from 9:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Lessons: Start at 10:00 a.m. with 45-minute sessions.
  • Breaks: Short break at 11:50 a.m. and lunchtime from 12:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Additional breaks can be arranged as needed.

Higher Needs Group

Support and Wellbeing

One-to-One Support:

  • Mentoring: You will be paired with a mentor for weekly support to discuss your goals and progress.
  • External Support: For additional help outside of school, visit The Nest website for mental wellbeing advice, or contact Childline (0800 1111) and Samaritans (116 123).

Work Experience:

  • Year 10 and 11 Placements: We help you find work placements that match your interests and career aspirations. Discuss your needs with your mentor to maximize this opportunity.

Feeling Safe:

  • Report Concerns: If you have any concerns about your treatment or safety, speak to The designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy Safeguarding Leads immediately. We take all concerns seriously and are committed to your well-being.
