Claudette Miller

Welcome! I am Claudette, and I am the Vice Principal and SENCO lead. I also teach GCSE Maths, Functional Skills Maths, and English. The quality of education we provide to our students is important to me, this is why tailoring their individual plans is vital for success.

I always wanted to be a teacher and help others to find a way to achieve their goals. I hope to make a difference to each and every student I teach. I want to help them see the importance of education, form positive daily habits that enable them to apply themselves to their learning, and support them to achieve the best possible outcomes for them as individuals.

To this end, we work with each student to understand their needs, and with input from us all, we help develop a personalised educational plan for them to get the most out of their time at Arco.

People tell me I always see the best in people and have great patience, and I think this helps me support our students to succeed. I feel I can connect with students by breaking down the subject and giving them time to work things through.

I take my responsibility to educate the adults of tomorrow very seriously. Every day here at Arco is different but that makes life interesting and requires me to constantly think on my feet. It is a challenging but rewarding role.

I have had experience in a wide range of areas in education in mainstream, independent, and SEN schools. I am a qualified teacher (PGCE), SENCO (PGCert SEND) and I have Senior Leadership Team experience in a similar setting.
